Original equipment brake calipers are fine for shuttling from home to work, school, stores and back, but not really suited to performance driving or hauling down a heavily laden truck or tow rig, and rusty OE calipers sure aren’t what you want to see behind a set of large diameter custom wheels. The performance calipers you’ll find here on our digital shelves have a number of advantages over factory calipers – they can vastly improve the stopping power and overall performance of your vehicle , while presenting an appearance you’ll be proud to show off.
We offer performance brake calipers for every application and budget, everything from economical 1-piston and 2-piston cast calipers with an attractive powder coated finish that are perfect for a daily driver, to lightweight, billet aluminum 8-piston calipers that are right at home on the race track. Our daily driver calipers will bolt right on in place of your OE calipers, and feature premium high-temperature EPDM boots and seals, and new pins and stainless steel hardware clips. They’re finished with an electrostatic high-heat powder coated finish that looks great and resists corrosion.
Most performance calipers are made of lightweight aluminum, which runs much cooler than cast iron, prolonging brake fluid and brake component life. Aluminum is also much lighter than cast iron, which lowers unsprung weight, lessening the work that your suspension has to do and improving handling. Lightweight aluminum calipers can also help to offset the addition of larger wheels and tires, which can be heavier than the components they’re replacing. The easiest way to get the benefit of aluminum is with our upgrade kits. These aluminum calipers bolt on directly in place of your OE cast iron calipers and feature multiple pistons for improved clamping force. They fit over factory diameter brake rotors, the brake hose attaches the same way and they fit inside stock diameter wheels.
While floating calipers are adequate for some applications, for a significant increase in stopping power we offer fixed, multi-piston calipers. We have bolt together 2-piece fixed calipers and fixed calipers CNC machined from solid aluminum billet. These calipers come with up to 8 pistons, 4 per side. Fixed calipers are much stiffer than their floating counterparts, so there is no hydraulic pressure wasted on flex. The pistons apply even pressure to both sides of the rotor, for better clamping power, and they are often sequentially sized to prevent tapered pad wear. In addition to individual calipers we offer caliper kits that include performance compound brake pads and braided stainless steel brake lines, which prevent the hose expansion and mushy brake pedal that can occur with rubber hoses.
