Your factory exhaust manifold is restricting both your 2006 Ford F-150 sound and power. Long tube headers like the name states, are much longer than short tube headers. They merge further out which results in even less backpressure. Long tube headers are ideal for high-rev vehicles, and racing. They build most power in the mid to high RPM range. These headers can also be difficult to install, or require some more work due to needing more space for the long tubes. Alternatively short tube headers merge in a shorter distance and are ideal for low-RPM power. For daily drivers and towing, these will build power the most power from idle to mid range.
