Performance Trailer Hitches
If you are going to be using your vehicle to tow a trailer with cargo or equipment or motor sports vehicles, the first thing you'll need to do is check your vehicle's GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating). You should be able to get this number easily, it is printed on every vehicle's Safety Compliance Certification Label. This label usually can be found on the side of the driver's door. This is the maximum weight that your vehicle is capable of towing, including it's own weight. You have to deduct your vehicle's weight from this rating to see the maximum your vehicle can pull behind it. This will give you the maximum weight the car is able to pull including the trailer, cargo and people in the car.
What Can I Do With A Hitch?
When you add a hitch to your vehicle , you will greatly increase your ability to transport cargo, haul an RV with you, even bring your ATV or Jet Skis to your favorite spot to use them. Not only can you haul a trailer with your new hitch, but you can use special smaller cargo carriers that attach directly to the hitch and don't ride along the road. These cargo carriers come in many different sizes so you don't have to use the full trailer every time you need to transport something.Read More
