A carburetor has several functions. It mixes air and fuel for internal combustion, regulates air fuel ratio, and controls engines speed. There are 3 different types of carburetors, one barrel – two barrel – and four barrel. Depending on your vehicle the type of carburetor needed will vary. A Performance carburetor is built to handle the high performance of your modified vehicle much more efficiently than OE carburetors. When picking your new carburetor its important to keep in mind your CFM (Cubic feet per minute). A general formula that can be used to calculate CFM is cubic inches x maximum RPM ÷ 3456 = CFM.
